If I had the episode on-hand, I'd give you more, but less than five minutes later, Harry Kim does infinitely better than them by diving into the center of sick-bay, and taking out Two Vidians all by himself. In doing so, they fail to even attempt to recon an area before moving in, and show no attention to zones of fire that are the first principle of CQB, do not attempt to use cover to their advantage. Tuvok and unnamed security guard come out of turbolift, boldly stride into the corridor, turning the same way, and get shot down before they can do anything. Any of these would be an imeasurable increase in what we see out of them, which would shame half of the rent-a-cop scum who couldn't hack it as a real police officer. Hell, even evidence that they've played small group first person shooters in their spare time. Or half as much tactical knowledge as I've personally seen an incompetent bunch of Transportation Branch Reservists display. I'm not asking for elite infantry, I'm asking for them to show as much knowledge as I got given during a two hour brig duty briefing one time. Incompetent bodyguards without the simplest training in basic security or keeping prisoners under wraps. Incompetent bodyguards who don't know their ship as well as the villain of the week who's making them look like unthinking children.
